Q: Does the riverbed need some preparation before installing the netting?
A: Yes it does. You should clear the riverbed of weeds, tree roots and sharp rocks. Also make sure the slope is level. If the foundation is soft you will need to put down a layer of stone about 100-150mm thick and compact it. For construction underwater it is an idea to lay down geotextile first and then put the netting in place on top of it.
Q: What precautions should be taken when installing netting in extremely cold regions (-30℃)?
A: The steel wire itself is resistant to low temperatures (impact energy ≥27J @ -40℃), but the filling stones must be prevented from freezing into lumps. For winter construction, materials can be prepared in advance, or filling can be done when the temperature is above -10℃.
