Gabion aprons are made of highly corrosion-resistant, high-strength low-carbon steel wire, mechanically woven into a double-twisted hexagonal mesh, which is then assembled into a cage structure. The cage is filled with boulders, gravel, or pebbles to form a flexible protective structure that covers the toe of the slope, reducing the scouring energy of the water flow and dispersing the impact force.
