1. Protection during construction: Avoid scratching with hard objects during transportation and storage. Do not store outdoors for more than 15 days. First, lightly lay small stones at the bottom 30% of the gabion's height, then fill with larger stones on top. Avoid throwing stones more than 2 meters high for filling.
2. Daily inspection: Inspect once per quarter, with an additional inspection after the flood season. Pay special attention to the PVC coating within ±0.5 meters of the water level fluctuation zone for damage; if stone loss exceeds 5%, refill is required; if the gabion deformation exceeds 10°, correct it.
3. Damage repair: If the damaged area of the PVC coating is greater than 10cm² or the steel wire is exposed, wrap it with waterproof tape or apply anti-corrosion paint within 48 hours. Replace the entire piece of mesh if rust spots are larger than 2mm in diameter.
4. Environmental maintenance: Clean the bottom of accumulated leaves and silt every six months. In southern acid rain areas (pH < 5.6), inspect the bottom of the posts once per quarter. When grass is planted with a 5-8cm thick layer of soil covering the netting, the root system can reach a depth of 15-20cm, which can reduce the weathering rate by about 30%.
