Structural reinforcement principle
Unlike standard double-twisted gabions, Reinforced Gabions feature heavy-gauge reinforcing steel wires woven directly into the double-twisted hexagonal mesh at fixed, engineered intervals (transversely or longitudinally).
These integrated wires act as continuous structural ribs, creating a unified high-tensile matrix that evenly distributes heavy stresses:
1. Main Mesh Wire: Flexible double-twisted wire (e.g., 2.7 mm) providing basic structural shaping and permeability.
2. Parallel Reinforcing Wires : Thicker steel wires (e.g., 3.4 mm / 3.8 mm) embedded in the mesh matrix to absorb lateral soil tension and water drag.
3. Reinforced Selvedge Wires : Extra heavy-gauge margin wires (e.g., 3.9 mm) preventing perimeter fraying and deformation.
4. Integrated Corner Stiffeners : Stabilizes box geometry and maintains side alignment during rock filling.
